Emma Raducanu concludes this year's campaign and will keep trainer into the 2026 season.

Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions this season as a result of the illness she has been battling for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 victories during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
