Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded this past week, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's success, its gifted actors also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers won 7 awards during the ceremony.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only four special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—decided by experts.
