Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the movie, adding that he cannot recall "any day without joy".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a restriction on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" associated with the probe.
