Homages Continue for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Remain Under Wraps.
Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the pair.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his personal sorrow.
"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the movie, adding that he cannot recall "any day without joy".
"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes wrote.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade
In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed
In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.
A judicial mandate put a restriction on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" associated with the probe.
The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a official listing citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
Aftermath and Reactions
After the killings, public individuals expressed different comments.
Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing controversial remarks that were broadly criticized by many individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the detractors recently. Speaking on his program, Rogan described the statements as "shocking" and remarked they revealed a worrisome absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by proposing that an adviser should have acted when the impulse to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
