Spurs Boss Thomas Frank Labels Goalkeeper Booers 'Not True Real Fans'
Fulham Start Strong to Defeat Tottenham and Increase Pressure on Frank
Tottenham Hotspur supporters who jeered keeper Vicario were informed later "they can't be real Tottenham fans" by manager Frank.
Spurs conceded two goals in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, marking their 10th Premier League home defeat of 2025.
However the primary topic of discussion was Fulham's next goal when the keeper gave away possession well beyond his box.
He came out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball near the sideline.
However, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italian turned and attempted to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was collected by King.
King laid the ball off to Wales midfielder Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six metres.
Seconds afterwards when the ball came to Vicario again, some Tottenham supporters booed him.
The team were jeered off at the interval, with the side 2-0 down, and again at full-time.
A particular of those booing sessions truly angered Frank.
"I heard a few of our fans apparently booed the situation and booed after, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager commented regarding the fans' reaction to his goalkeeper.
"[They] can't be true Tottenham fans that act that way. Alright booing following the game, no problem, but when we are in play, we are backing one another, we are behind one another moving ahead."
Tete had handed the visitors a early advantage before Wilson's goal – with Kudus netting for Spurs in an better second-half showing.
Former top-flight keeper Joe Hart remarked that the second score was "totally preventable".
"I do appreciate the fans' frustration," Hart continued. "I am aware the role Vicario is performing. He is a great team player, he's a real leader in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your actions.
"The keeper was deeply involved in what ended up to be the winning score."
'It's Part of Football, I'm a Big Man'
Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Match
Italy international Vicario is in his third season with Tottenham.
The 29-year-old said after the game that he had to accept the criticism.
"That score was a mistake of my own, I take accountability for it," he said.
"The intent was to kick the ball far and I simply struck the ball in a bad way. That made an more difficult challenge to climb."
He said receiving jeers "comes with football".
"I'm a big man, what can I say?" he added. "We can't be influenced by the situation in the crowd. The fans have the right to do as they see fit.
"It's on us to remain increasingly calm, to concentrate on our own performance. We are missing in composure and calmness to overturn outcomes. Today is a bad defeat and it is tough to take."
'It Shocked Me No One Returned to the Goal Line'
Despite Vicario's mistake, it was not an simple goal for Harry Wilson to score.
In fact it was the next longest-range Premier League score of the campaign – following Tyler Adams' 43.3 yard strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally too came on the same day.
Wilson said he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an empty goal to target.
10 moments passed between Vicario exiting of his area and the midfielder striking – which was five seconds following the kick.
"It seemed to me like the goalkeeper was out of the area for ages," he said.
"I was surprised not one of the defenders went back to the line. When none of them defended the goal, my eyes lit up somewhat.
"Udogie slipped as well, which gave me a little additional opportunity. After that it was all about attempting to achieve the right contact and place it towards goal. I felt a positive feeling, the moment it came off my foot, that it was heading in."
'During in a Bad Spell, All Appears to Work Against You'
Booing Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unjustifiable - Frank
Although the keeper's error led headlines, this was an all-round poor day for Tottenham to extend their home ground woes.
This was their 10th at home loss of 2025 in the league, a shared club record along with nineteen ninety-four and 2003.
The side still have home fixtures against Frank's former club the Bees and champions Liverpool to play prior to the end of the year.
Only one of those wins have come since Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
"When you're behind 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," stated Frank.
"When you're in a bad spell, everything appears to work against you as well – the opening was a deflected attempt, the next is a error from Vic.
"This result leaves us in a position where we have lost another match. Each fixture has a single story, today we lost in the early stages.
"We simply need to keep working. The second half was significantly improved and with luck an aspect we can use to learn."
Tottenham have lost 4 consecutive home London derbies for the first time in the top division.
Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 attempts and three point two shots on target per game in the Premier League – their poorest rates on file in a one campaign (since at least the 2003-04 season).
Ex- Fulham midfield player Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.
"He's got accept the criticism," the pundit remarked. "He's accepted a high profile job at a huge football club with massive anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that accompanies that.
"Their showings at home have been poor and they have to get better {quickly|
